MPI Keeps a Constant
Temp
MPI Technologies began its life as
a vacuum metallizer of thin-gauge films and non-wovens. Our early
projects included precise depositions of a variety of metals and
films, including kapton, silver and copper. Early product development
led to a family
of aluminum-coated polyester super-insulations, known as NRC2™,
that have been a mainstay of the cryogenic, “rescue” and
medical industries ever since.
Our
unique Crinkleform™ Process provides built-in standoffs
to minimize heat transfer and thermal short-circuiting in multi-layer
applications. The built-in Crinkleform™ spacing also assists
in reducing pump down times in vacuum applications.
This
Recipe is Hot and Cold
Vacuum Deposition is an art as well as a science. The Team of
operators has been with MPI for over 20 years perfecting the art
of creating a precise coating of metal with each pass.
In a
vacuum, the 99.6% pure aluminum is heated until it turns into a
gas. The molecules then are “deposited” on film as
it travels at very specific speeds over a chilled roll where they
solidify evenly across the web. |

Our Stock is Steady
Our customers use a lot of our metallized products to wrap pipes,
manufacture rescue and fire retardant products, insulate
homes, and manufacture Operating Room materials.
NRC-2™ and its sister products, as well
as Heat
Shield, are kept
in stock for quick-turn delivery. See our Product
guide for details
on the full line.
And Then There's Custom
As with all of our product lines, MPI will
custom metallize large orders of most films including PET, PP,
LDPE, HDPE,
from .00023
gauge through 15 mils in
roll-form from 30” to 64” wide.
Non-wovens, including Reemay and Tyvek, can be custom metallized
as well. Slitting services are available.
